Cannabis in the UK will launch in 2018 to create a new public debate about how we treat cannabis consumption in the UK. We will examine the consequences of the current legal status of cannabis, how it is enforced, and the public policies relating to its use. In the early stage we will place a particular focus on how its cultivation, trade and consumption impacts on young people, mental health, family life and criminality.
The project will convene the largest and most diverse range of stakeholders ever to engage with this issue. We will operate in the spirit of open inquiry and make proposals that serve the public interest based on the best research available.
